The History of Automotion, Inc.

Automotion first opened its doors in 1967 as a distributor of conveyors and conveyor accessories.  It did not take long  to realize that we could provide far greater service to our customers if we could also control the manufacturing aspects of the conveyor equipment that we were supplying.  Automotion understood the value of providing service in every facet from design and production to installation, training and ongoing factory trained technical support.  Simply stated, Automotion was providing Value Added Service long before it became a buzz word in the industrial world.

In 1970 Automotion became a manufacturer of Conveyor Equipment.  Initially,  Automotion focused on the hard goods distribution industry.   Over the next ten years we steadily diversified from this market into others including Bulk Mail and Catalog Distribution, Apparel Distribution,  Medical & Pharmaceutical Supply Distribution and  Liquor & Beverage Distribution. 

We attribute our success to our ability to listen to the needs of our customers and constantly re-evaluate and improve upon the conveyor products and services we provide in an attempt to satiate these needs.

From our humble beginnings in 1967 we have grown to be one of the top manufacturers of conveyor in the country.  We now occupy our third built-to-suit facility in Oak Lawn, IL.  Our new facility is over 140,000 square feet and houses our modern offices and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.   We are proud of our track record, our innovative breakthroughs in conveyor technologies and the reputation we have earned serving the needs of the materials handling industry.

The markets we serve are growth market segments within the distribution Supply Chain.  We provide our products and services to those market segments via direct and 3rd party sales channels.  Our Automotion Systems Group and our Distributors possess a thorough understanding of the business challenges of our clients, so they are capable of developing the best materials handling solutions.

Our customers are the only reason for our business.  Meeting their needs will always be our first priority.
